The course features a some 300 meter-high (1000 ft.) limestone hill more than a million years old, which towers over the entire golf course sticking out like a sore thumb yet creating an awesome sight to behold. Attracting advanced players, the course is long with various strategically placed bunkers. Professional tournaments held here were the Benson & Hedges Malaysian Open in 1995, 1996 and 2000.

3rd Par 4 430 yards

A beautiful hole with the limestone hill behind the green to the right. It is long and a big bunker in front of the green comes into play.

7th Par 5 567 yards

The landing area of the fairway on the second shot is very narrow, just 30-yards wide. At the same time, big trees are hanging over the right side of the fairway, from 140 yards to 70 yards off the green, which also makes the second shot extremely difficult especially for draw hitters.

7th Par 5 567 yards

8th Par 3 196 yards

A beautiful par 3 over a lake. The green is only 20 yards deep with bunkers in front and at the back of the green, so a precise shot is needed. The bunker in front is 80 yards long, which makes it more like a beach than a bunker.

15th Par 5 575 yards

You drive over a ravine onto the flat and tight fairway. The second shot is a dogleg to the left, sharply downhill. The green is a circular shape close to 40 yards in diameter and is well contoured, so putting is demanding. The designer blends this great hole with the virgin jungle. The characteristic of the hole is completely different from the other 17 holes.

15th Par 5 575 yards

16th Par 3 160 yards

A downhill short par 3 with a shallow green. The green is only 15 yards deep with bunkers guarding it in front and at the back, which catch any short or long shots.

You have the choice to take the direct route across the huge expanse of lake or go around it safely to get to the green. If you go around, the hole becomes a dogleg to the left and the remaining yardage on the second shot is long. But, if you choose the direct route, you need to drive an accurate shot over the lake onto the some 50-yard wide fairway guarded by water and a bunker. A carry of 240 yards is needed to clear the water to reach the bunker on the right and a carry of 270 yards to clear the bunker. The tee shot is demanding but if you make it, just a PW is needed for the uphill second shot.

19th hole

It takes less than one hour from Kuala Lumpur by car.

Not only the limestone hill but also the view and landscaping of Hole 15 are impressive. This is only hole which makes you feel you are playing in a virgin jungle. Saujana G&CC – Palm Course has many excellent holes like this, which came as a fresh reminder of how good Saujana was. However, the course is one of toughest courses in Malaysia and is worth challenging.

Golfers should note that yardage sticks of 100 yards and 150 yards were to the front edges of the greens, not up to the centers of the greens.
