There are 2 courses, the Mountain Course utilizing mountainous terrain and the Valley Course where a lot of water hazards come into play, utilizing flatter terrain. The Valley Course that I played this time has the better reputation. The front 9 holes have a lot of slopes and each hole is different. The back 9 holes are flat and challenging because of well-placed lakes.

A dogleg to the right, slight uphill. You need to carry 250 yards to clear the fairway bunkers. A carry of 220 yard is needed to go over a tree on the left side of the bunkers. The green slopes from back to front and is guarded by 3 deep bunkers.

A dogleg to right, slightly uphill. The fairway is narrow. If you hit your tee shot to the left of the fairway, there are bushes. If you hit to the right, the bunkers await you. If you hit to the right side of the bunker, there is a side-hill lie that makes your second shot difficult.

A very long and challenging par 4. The handicap index is 1. There are bushes on the both sides of the tight fairway. There are deep bunkers on both sides of the green, so a bad second shot lands you in trouble. A big rock in front of the green, palm trees on the back of green, and the grand mountain behind them make for views.

This is a short par 4 and the fairway is surrounded by water, forming on island fairway. It is a unique but easy hole.

A long and difficult par 4 with a slight dogleg to the left. There is an island fairway on this hole, too. A creek, facing the left side of the fairway, runs through the back of the green.

19th hole

It takes one hour and thirty minutes by ferry and another 8 minutes by car. It takes one hour from both Zhuhai and Guangzhou by car. The buffet lunch was delicious.
